Kenya’s main opposition leader Raila Odinga has called for calm after he was rushed to a hospital Sunday night following complains of stomach discomfort.
Odinga, who was discharged Monday morning, said his stomach pains have “since disappeared after getting treatment”.
“I am as fit as a fiddle. I have been discharged to go to Nairobi to continue with my campaigns,” he added.
The National Super Alliance (NASA) candidate was rushed to the hospital immediately after arriving at the Moi International Airport in Mombasa from a rally in Kilifi County.
His aides however suspect food poisoning.
72-year-old Raila Odinga, who lost the last elections to incumbent Uhuru Kenyatta, will again face the same rival on August 8.
He is contesting for the fourth time with belief that he will be victorious.
